Kamali’i Foster Family Agency provides an Independent Living Program that offers support, guidance and assistance to youth and their caregiver(s) in the development of their individual goals. The programs goal is to empower foster youth in the process of successfully obtaining self-sufficiency.
Kamali’i facilitates independent living skills by providing classes to address important topics in an environment that is conducive to learning. Kamali’i also provides team building activities that will allow foster youth to connect and form support networks amongst their community and peers. Once youth complete courses and activities, ongoing individual weekly monitoring and quarterly networking activities are provided.
ILP mainly begins at the age of 15 ½ however Kamali’i believes in early intervention and welcomes youth beginning their freshmen year in high school. Classes are appropriate for high school aged youth to young adults.
Program classes and activities are offered throughout the calendar year to meet the individual needs of those young adults currently in placement.
