We post a lot about national days on social media, and now we are going to tell you how we celebrate them! There are so many fun national days you can celebrate with your family… some of them we don’t post about, but may still be special to you. Here are our favorite national days in March and how you and your family can celebrate them.
1. Peanut Butter Lover’s Day (March 1st)
Fall in love all over again, with some peanut butter or a brand new peanut butter combination. Indulge in classics, like peanut butter and apples. Try something new, like noodles and peanut butter, pickles and peanut butter, or peanut butter and bacon. Sweet tooth? Make some peanut butter cookies! Don’t forget to use #PeanutButterLoversDay to post on social media.
2. Read Across America Day (March 2nd)
To celebrate today, simply pick up an interesting book and read it! More importantly, read with a child, and encourage them to do some reading of their own (if they’re old enough)! If you’re feeling a little extra festive, pick up a Dr.Seuss classic, and introduce your child to the crazy world of “Star Bellied Sneetches” and the “Foona-Lagoona Baboona” Use #ReadAcrossAmericaDay or #DrSeussDay to post on social media.
3. #SoupItForward Day (March 3rd)
Soup Sisters founded National Soup it Forward Day to encourage everyone to make a difference in each other’s lives through the warm, healing kindness of sharing a bowl of soup. To celebrate today, make up your favorite soup and deliver it to someone you know who could use the warmth of kindness in their life. Use #HugInABowl and #SoupItForwardDay to share on social media.
4. Plant a Flower Day (March 12th)
Celebrate today by planting a flower, or start with a potted garden! Select plants that grow well in your area. Check local greenhouses and big box stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot. Don’t be afraid to ask them questions! Let’s all work together by planting a flower and helping make the world a more beautiful place. Use #PlantAFlowerDay to post on social media.
5. Pi Day (March 14th)
Calling all math nerds, this one’s for you! National Pi Day on March 14th recognizes the mathematical constant π. Also known as pi, the first three and most recognized digits are 3.14. The day is celebrated by pi enthusiasts and pie lovers alike! Celebrate the day with a slice of a pie (cut using the mathematical constant of pi). Use #NationalPiDay to post on social media.
6. Sloppy Joe Day (March 18th)
You know what to do! Whip up your favorite Sloppy Joe recipe and sides to go along with it. Check our social media on the 18th for a delicious sloppy joe recipe and be sure to let us know how it goes! Use #NationalSloppyJoeDay to post on social media.
7. National Puppy Day (March 23rd)
It’s hard to beat this holiday! Observed each year on March 23rd, National Puppy Day celebrates the unconditional love and affection puppies bring to our lives. To celebrate today, go to the dog park and let your puppy play, pick up a special treat for your puppy, or just take a walk with your furry friend. Use #NationalPuppyDay and post photos of your puppy on social media!
8. National Crayon Day (March 31st)
Each year, on March 31st children and adults alike, pick up their favorite colors for National Crayon Day. Opening up a box of crayons opens up a world of imagination and hours of fun. So grab your crayons and a coloring book and color away! Use #NationalCrayonDay to share on social media.
March may seem like it only has one holiday, but when you dig a little deeper, March is actually full of fun holidays, each with its own special way to celebrate. We hope you have fun celebrating all of these newfound holidays! Be sure to tag us in any social media posts so we can see your celebration!
